Recycling is not compatible with the circular economy but despite this there are still companies that persist in this practice! In recent decades there has been an increase in disposable products and materials used by both companies and consumers. This has created a huge waste management problem that weighs on the environment and resources. Recycling, while well intentional, is not an effective way to reduce this problem, given the high impact in terms of emissions that this practice entails. It is a message out of time and the serious situation in which we find ourselves. Emissions are growing, the temperature is rising and the effects are unfortunately there for all to see. The idea of simply taking a product at the end of its life and converting it to another of lower quality, is perceived more when we shift the focus to the circular economy.
The circular green economy and recycling are opposed
The circular economy focuses more on the reuse of existing materials rather than on creating new materials from collected waste. Its goal is to keep resources in circulation for as long as possible, thus reducing resource consumption and environmental damage. This represents an opportunity to create greater efficiency in production processes and reduce the costs associated with waste disposal. In addition, the transition from a linear economy to a circular economy can help preserve natural resources such as water, soil, minerals and energy sources for future generations.
Recycling is not compatible with sustainability policies
An important component of the circular economy is the reuse of containers and packaging. It involves taking old containers that have reached the end of their life cycle and reusing them for other purposes. For example, empty paint cans can be reused as decorative planters or rain barrels, while plastic tubs can be used to store garden tools or lawn. Reusing these containers eliminates the need to produce new ones, while still providing usable products with a lifespan far longer than a single-use item.
Operational solutions and training program that improves and increases the reputation of the institutions and companies that use it
The circular economy offers many advantages over traditional methods of recycling waste including greater sustainability, greater efficiency and cost savings. However, due to a lack of information about its economic benefits, it remains largely unexplored by most businesses and consumers, who continue to rely on linear production models involving large quantities of disposable products ending up in landfills or incinerators, rather than being reused or repurposed for other purposes.
It is imperative that more people are aware of these potential benefits, so that the movement towards a more sustainable future through the reuse of containers becomes common knowledge, instead of being practiced only by those who actively seek to reduce their environmental impact. Recycling is not compatible with the circular economy.
